Procedures for Periodic Electrical Testing

• A registered electrical contractor must be employed to test the electrical installations.
• Ask the electrical contractor to issue a 'Periodic Test Certificate' (Form WR2) for the electrical installations within a month after the test.
• Deliver the certificate together with the endorsement fee to the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) for endorsement within 2 weeks after the date of the certificate.
• The endorsed certificate will be posted to the owners' corporation. EMSD will randomly inspect the electrical installations that have been certified to have met the standards before endorsing the certificate.
• EMSD will carry out random and non-periodic inspection anytime to ensure that your electrical installations meet the statutory requirements. Please make available the certificates for inspection when required by inspecting officers.
