Building Management Courses 2016 (2, 9 and 16 November 2016)

To enhance the understanding of District Council members and their assistants on the Building Management Ordinance (BMO) and daily operation of building management, the Home Affairs Department (HAD) and the School of Continuing and Professional Education of the City University of Hong Kong jointly organised Building Management Courses on 2, 9 and 16 November 2016. The Courses covered a wide range of topics, including the provisions of BMO, owners' corporations' handling of the water seepage problem, unauthorised building works and building maintenance.

Apart from lawyers giving talks on the BMO and some precedents, the HAD also invited representatives of the Urban Renewal Authority to introduce the “Smart Tender” Building Rehabilitation Facilitating Services, as well as officials of the Labour Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Council to speak on the occupational safety of building maintenance works.
